Yes, EMDR can be done online, and we carry out sessions over Zoom.
We will require good internet connection, working webcam, microphone and speakers, and a quiet confidential space for you to be able to effectively experience the sessions.
The options for bi-lateral stimulation will be following a moving dot across your screen through a web programme, or, most commonly, through tapping yourself on your knees or shoulders. In some cases, we may be able to play a sound through headphones.
The effectiveness of online EMDR is no different to when working in-person.
